Bowels
In the newborn, normal bowel movements are usually soft, yellow, seedy looking, and frequent.
A bowel movement after every meal or one every other- 3 days day can be normal. Breast fed babies can go less frequently than this. All babies strain and fuss with a bowel movement. Passing "gas" is normal. Do not be concerned by this.
Constipation is hard dry stool. If your baby has trouble with constipation, contact the office for suggestions. Do not change formulas on your own and do not use suppositories or rectal stimulation.
