General Newborn Care

Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby!  Whether this is the first time or the fourth time, few things can be compared to the joy experienced when seeing your baby for the first time!

Along with your joy and happiness, there can be uncertainty and lack of confidence in your ability to care for this bundle of joy.  Do not get discouraged by these feelings, because they are natural.  Remember, although you have been aware of the baby growing inside of you for months, now there is everyday care and interaction involved with the baby.  With each passing day, you will begin to feel more relaxed and confident in your skills as a parent.  In the same way your baby is getting to know you, you are getting to know him or her.
