Reading with your Child

Read at a regular time everyday, like bedtime.

Read books with rhymes.

Listen as your child practices reading.

Have your child reread favorite books; children gain confidence when using books and words they know.

Point out words your child missed and help him/her, or read it correctly.

Talk with your child about what she/he is reading.

Encourage reading on his/her own

Let your child know you are proud of her/his reading

Visit the library often; story times, homework help, as well as other wonderful activities can be found for the whole family.
